« on: September 24, 2021, 07:25:17 pm »
If you need to change your account's name, you no longer need to ask staff to do it, you can it yourself.

Go to https://ctf.vcmp.ovh/CTFWeb login with your CTF server account on the top right corner.

After you login, click on your name on the top right corner, you will see a popup where you can enter your new name. Press the submit button and it's done.

A few things to note before doing this:
  • Make sure to leave the server if you are inside it
  • Make sure you dont register a new account with your new name, otherwise you wont be able to change your account name

News & Announcements / CTF 6 Public beta
« on: September 22, 2021, 05:47:48 pm »

The CTF6 public beta is now live, come and join the fun and give the new player abilities a try!

What's new?

Player abilities/skills

Abilities are small perks/effects that you can apply either to yourself or others for a few seconds. There's 3 types of abilities:
  • SELF -  Abilities that affect the player only such as the immunity abilities, silencer and so on
  • INFANTRY -  Abilities that allow a player to place bombs, mines, gears etc., and anything else self-serving around your personal weaponry
  • TEAM - Any ability that serves your team such as the healing the regeneration of health and ammo

You can see a list of abilities here

You can only have 3 skills equipped at the same time, but you can choose which ones to equip at any point.

New hotkeys:
  • F3 --> Opens skill store ( you can buy and equip skills in this window)
  • Q --> Uses skill equipped in slot1
  • 2 --> Uses skill equipped in slot2
  • E --> Uses skill equipped in slot3
To change default hotkeys:
  • /key1 <keyID> (changes slot1 hotkey)
  • /key2 <keyID> (changes slot2 hotkey)
  • /key3 <keyID> (changes slot3 hotkey)
To get <keyID>:
  • Run  /recordkey and press the key you want to use
  • You will then see the <keyID> on the chat, which you can use with the /key1,2,3 commands
You can watch a tutorial on how to do this  here
Currency:

CTF now has currency, AKA, Points. You can spend these points on player skills/abilities.
Each one costs 100 points. You can earn points, the exact same way you earn points for your team during a round:
  • 1 kill = 1 point
  • 1 Flag = 15 points
  • 5 player killing spree = +1 point for each kill +5 points for the last kill (10 points total)
  • (NEW) 1 kill while holding the flag = +2 points
  • (NEW) Ending someone's spree = +5 points

Points cannot be transfered nor abilitites can be sold

Ranks

Players now have ranks. All players will start with Rank 0. For each 100 points you earn, you will rank up, so everytime you rank up, that means you can buy a new ability.

As a way to kickstart your progress, 50 points have been given to all registered players, you only need 50 more points and you'll be able to buy your first ability!

News & Announcements / CTF Public beta test for new VCMP version
« on: August 14, 2019, 05:35:46 am »
There will be a public beta test for the new VCMP version (0.4.7) this saturday (17/08/2019) that will be played on the CTF server. Click here for more info

This beta test will be done on a separate server, I will publicly announce the IP of the server on saturday. You will be able to login with your usual CTF account from the main server. Also the banlist will be cleared on that server.

New features:
Quote
This CTF server will have a few changes compared to the regular 0.4.6 version of CTF.

It will be using some new 0.4.7 features like 3D arrows, which will be set on players who capture the flag and they will also be bleeding (like in singleplayer), so you can follow the blood trails of a player with the flag to find out its location. All downloads will also be done over HTTP.

5
In the next few months, if everything goes well, we will be moving to CTF5.0 completely and shutting down CTF4.0.

Before CTF4.0 is shut down, if you'd like to transfer your CTF4.0 stats to your CTF5.0 acount, follow these steps:
  • Create an account on the CTF5.0 server with the same name of your CTF4.0 account
  • Join CTF4.0 and use the command /ctf5pass <password> (that <password> will be your new CTF5.0 account's password )
That's it.

Bear in mind though, after doing this, your stats will not be transfered immediately to CTF5.0 server, they will be transfered when CTF4.0 is shut down. So if you use the ctf5pass command and then join CTF5.0 and notice that your stats are not there, that is normal, they will only be transfered when CTF4.0 is shut down.

Any player that doesn't use the /ctf5pass command will not have their stats transfered from CTF4.0 to CTF5.0, so don't forget to do this as soon as possible, if you want to mantain your stats!

News & Announcements / [CTF5.0] Round stats reports
« on: February 02, 2017, 10:29:45 pm »
Every round result that does not end in 0-0 will now automatically generate a detailed report which can be accessed on http://ctf.vcmp.ovh/CTFWeb/rounds right after the round ends in the server. To access a round report just click on a line row and that will open the round report. You can click on a player nickname on the page to access individual player statistics gathered during that round.

At the moment, on the general tab, the report shows all player kills that happened during the round and a few top 10 tables. There's also the option to filter by clan tags. This feature doesn't restrict the search to same clan tags, multiple clan tags can be searched for as long as they're separated by commas (,). After inserting the clan tags on the input field and clicking on the "apply tags filter" button, all the tables will be re-created with new data of the tags you searched for. Those general stats on the top right corner will also be re-calculated to reflect the tag filters applied.

On the weapons tab, a total of kills with each weapon is displayed. This is the general sum of the kills made with each weapon for both teams. Filters by clan tags do not affect the numbers shown here.

On the last "bodyparts" tab, a general pie chart is shown with the percentage of kills made during the round by boths teams, split by bodypart. Filters by clan tags also have no effect on this chart.

Overall this page is still a tad incomplete and needs more work. There's still many more statistics to show. I started making this a few months ago but stopped working on it due to lack of time. I recently picked it back up and continued where I left off. It's still not fully complete and there will be more improvements to it eventually, I have a few more ideas in mind to play with in the future but for now, it's good enough to go live. Hopefully this will be of use for teams to better measure their performance during clanwars and matches.

(this page is displaying stats from the CTF5.0 server only)

News & Announcements / CTF 5.0 Public beta test
« on: August 06, 2016, 12:59:27 am »
Hello everyone, today I'd like to announce a new version of the capture the flag server, CTF 5.0!

Version 4.0 was released 1 year ago, and alot of things in VC:MP have changed since then. There's many new VC:MP features that our current server is not fully making use of, so it's time for an upgrade. The first version of the script was created by X_94 back in 2011. Since then, there's been many iterations of the script and later on, Nilz took on the developer role and has been maintaining the codebase. Thesedays, Murdock aswell has been making big contributions to the script by fixing alot of the bugs with the IRC echo and replacing the old textdraws with labels, among other fixes. After 5 years of re-using the same code, things became harder to mantain, so I decided to took on the developer role aswell and rewrite the server from scratch, and so that's what I've been doing on my free time for the past 5 months. This new version of CTF has been rewritten in Java which gives us alot more flexibility than the old squirrel version. As for Nilz and Murdock, they will both keep contributing to this new script aswell.

The main goal of this public beta test is to detect bugs. After months of testing this version internally with the staff, I feel that the script has finally reached a beta status and it's now ready to be tested by a larger crowd with the purpose of finding new bugs, so please report all of the bugs you can find here on the forum. With that being said I'd like to invite everyone (except those on the banlist) in the community to join in on the fun! In comparison to CTF 4.0, this server has many new features that should  refresh the CTF experience, some of the new features include:
  • Roundstats, there is now stats per round and you can check your round stats while inside the round by typing /roundstats
  • Hitmarkers, this is an experimental feature so far, due to VC:MP bugs it only works for some weapons, also this is not 100% accurate since it's being done client side (/hitmarker <on/off>)
  • A new sprite has been added up top that's being used to show the team scores and the round clock timer
  • Ability to pause and unpause the round for staff members
  • Players can no longer abuse the number of allowed weapon packs changes per round by leaving the server and rejoining
  • Live round clock (this means the "timeleft" text is no longer "paused"/updated periodically, now it's always running)
  • GUIs, the server now uses GUIs in several places like choosing/changing weapon packs, starting/changing arenas, building new arenas, placing arena objects (screenshot

Now, as the name says, this is still in beta, so there will be bugs and not all the features have been implemented yet like arena boundaries, HP addons, Player of round, etc...These will all be done after this beta test. The duration of the test will depend on server stability, if the script is stable enough we'll probably have the test running for a longer period to detect new bugs. If not, it could last a few days like 1 or 2. It will depend on well it goes.

Server IP: 51.254.114.167:8193
IRC Channel: #MK.CTF5

Shortcuts:
  • Press P to see/change packs. After choosing your pack, you can press P again to close the window.
  • When the voting window shows, there will be 5 options. To vote for each one use the shortcuts: SHIFT+1, SHIFT+2, SHIFT+3, SHIFT+4 and SHIFT+5,

Changelog so far:

  • added missing ingram to pack 4
  • added teamchat
  • fixed text color not showing when players made a spree ("+5" text)
  • fixed an exception with the login kick timer when a player left the server before the timer finished running

  • fixed an exception with the flag capture timer when a player left the server while capturing the flag which caused the server to crash on some rare ocasions
  • fixed a bug that happened on very specific cases when players died while capturing the flag, and still kept it when they respawned
  • added ratio to /stats cmd
  • added hp addons per kill
  • fixed a bug for red/blue players that caused them to stay in the arena builder world instead of switching to the public world when they were previously spawned as builders
  • fixed a bug with the arena builder not saving created arena objects
  • fixed a bug with the banned message that said the admin that banned the player was the one who got banned
  • fixed spree count not being reset each round
  • added hp addon per flag barrel drop
  • added ammo reffils on each 5 player killing spree
  • fixed server staff being able to start a round with no players from both teams online

  • fixed an issue with the flag not respawning automatically when the player who had it had drowned
  • added 1 player per team limitation to the RPG pack  just like ctf4.0
  • fixed a bug with the arena voting session that caused the votes not to be counted properly and made the server always start the last voted arena
  • fixed a bug that allowed players to refill their ammo if they changed their pack to the one they currently had
  • added "Player of the round"
  • changed teamchat messages not to use 1 single color only
  • fixed a bug with the arena builder that prevented builders to edit an arena that was currently being played
  • fixed a bug that caused the packs window to show up when logging in or registering a new account
  • added ping limit kicker
  • added "ratio" to /roundstats
  • added multiple IRC staff commands to manage clanwars
  • added /spanwpassword cmd to use when a spawnpassword is set
  • added 3D scoreboards that will show the top 10 players (sorted by points) from each team when a round ends. These can be seen outside malibu at the entrance
  • optimized the arenas list staff window, it should open faster now, and the game no longer freezes for a second when opening the window
  • fixed blue team players not showing on 3D scoreboards when joining a round in progress
  • fixed round not ending when all players from a team left the server
  • fixed some rare crashes that happened when capturing the flag while the round was ending
  • fixed a bug in the banning system that was kicking players wrongfully

News & Announcements / [ON] clan banned from the server
« on: July 17, 2016, 06:25:15 am »
All the members from the [ON] clan have been banned from the server due to the usage of hacks. The duration of this ban has not been decided yet but as of now, there is no unban date. Proof about the usage of these hacks can be seen HERE. Now for the obvious question that some of you might have:

Why are all the members of the [ON] clan being banned if not all of them used the hacks?
> Because [ON] clan leaders have confessed that they give hacks to their members if their members say it's only for tests.

Proof:
Quote from: K.
we gave them hacks for being a CLAN MEMBER
Link | Screenshot

Quote from: KakaroT
We stopped giving hacks to members after they started using in servers and breaking promise of not using them in public servers. And they were warned for that.
Link | Screenshot

We can't trust a clan that distributes hacks to their members to play fair, since their members just like in the proof shown above, will use the hacks on public servers. Simply put, the leaders of this clan are distributing hacks inside their clan, this means that no member from [ON] can be trusted.

If anyone from the staff has any problem with this decision feel free to create a topic on the staff section to discuss it.

News & Announcements / Server issues
« on: April 09, 2016, 06:28:48 pm »
We've started the process of moving to another server, the new IP is 51.255.102.244:5196. However there's been some issues. Apparently some people see the server online and some people see it offline, even though the server is online. We're trying to fix this issue as fast as possible.

This just a notice letting you know that we haven't abandoned the server. I have greats things planned ahead for the future of the server, stay tuned  ::)
