Team Applications / Application Format

READ FIRST

If you want to enter the event, first of all, make sure you and your team will be active during the event season, we don't want teams leaving in the middle of the tournament. To participate you must gather 5 friends and create a 5 player team. It's not obligatory for all the members of a team to be from the same clan. You can have members from different clans on your team. Be advised though that one player can only be in one team, players will not be allowed to compete for several teams. Clans will only be allowed to participate with 1 team. Other members from the clan are allowed to make more teams but the name of those teams can't reference their clan. For example:

Teams like: Miami Killers1, Miami Killers2, Miami Killers3, etc... won't be allowed. Only 1 Miami Killers team will be allowed. If more members from Miami Killers wish to make a team and participate, they can, but their team's name must be different and cannot reference their clan name, as they won't be representing their clan, and will be competing as a different individual team.

The team's name mustn't contain any derogatory term and / or hit any political or religious views, please be polite towards other players. The team applications will be opened from the 14th of October to the 26th, after that period, the applications will close and the tournament will start. If you're applying as a clan, you don't need to give a very specific or accurate listing of your team members and substitutes as we will consider all your clan members as potential participants.

If your team fails to meet the criteria specified above, the team will not be accepted into the tournament

Why can't I pick up the flag?
To pick up the flag you have to stay still on top of it for 3 seconds.
I have captured the flag but how do I drop it?
To drop the flag and score points for your team, you have to go back to your spawn where you will see a barrel, just go over it and the flag will be dropped.
Why does the server keep killing me when I spawn?
If that happens, that means you're trying to spawn on a team that has too many players, spawn with a skin from the other team to balance the teams.
Why can't I spawn with the builder skin?
The builder skin is there only for testing purposes and building bases so you won't be able to spawn with it unless you have atleast level 4.
How can I change my weapons pack? I used the !pack command but it didn't work
You have to choose your weapon pack before the round starts with the command !pack <id>. If you see a loading bar on the bottom right of your screen, that means the server is waiting for you to choose your weapons pack, if you don't choose any, you will be given the default weapon pack. You can use the !packs command to see what each pack contains. If the round has already started you can use the !changepack command once.
Sometimes my character starts jumping/floating, is this a bug?
When that happens, that means you've hit the world boundaries limits set by the server for that specific arena, every fighting location has different boundaries in different places, this was done on purpose so that players don't leave the fighting territory, it's not a bug.

BASIC STANDINGS
Match format: 5x5
Match rounds: 6
Round lenght: 15 minutes
Ping limit: 350 ms
FPS limit: higher than 20fps
Friendly fire: OFF
Wallglitch: ON

SCORING
A team's score is a sum of the scores of its players.
Players get:
+1 point for each kill
+5 points for each 5 kill-streak
+15 points for each captured flag
-1 point for each death

ARENAS
Each team picks 3 arenas and the prefered side.
Teams cannot choose an arena that they already chose in a previous match.
Each map is played once.
If both teams pick same arena, the arena is played twice.

ARENA ORDER
Arenas and sides are specified in advance before the match.
Maps are played in following order: Red team's map first, Blue team's map second, etc.
Every team put it's maps order.

HEALING SYSTEM
For each kill, players get healed.

REPLACEMENTS
Teams can rotate its line-up via player replacement any time they want (during the round or between the rounds), but the total number of players must not exceed 5.

OCCASIONS
Round doesn't start until both teams have 5 players spawned and ready to play. Waiting time for missing players between the rounds won't be allowed to exceed 10 minutes.
If a player gets kicked, times-out or leaves the server without any reason during the round, the round doesn't stop, and the player has to come back as soon as possible. Teams are allowed to replace a missing player.
If, for some reason, the server crashes during a round, players reconnect and round will be resumed with same scores and the same time that was left for the round to finish.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The format of the tournament will be announced after the team applications are closed and will depend on the number of teams.

All matches must have a staff member present who will later report the result of the match on the forums. Look for staff members on the #MK.CTF IRC channel on LUnet and ask them to come spectate the match.
